St. Thomas More University Parish & Student Center

EverGreene was integral in the construction of a new Catholic Student Center on the Norman campus of the University of Oklahoma. The new chapel, designed by Krittenbrink Architecture, replaces a modern church and is informed by a collegiate Gothic sensibility.

Working collaboratively with St. Thomas More Catholic Student Center’s design team, Cooper Project Advisors, and Krittenbrink Architecture, EverGreene developed a liturgical artistry program featuring faux tapestries of Our Lady of Walsingham, St. Thomas More, St. George, St. Joseph, and English martyrs. The choice to display tapestries was inspired by the architecture of the time period when the patron St. Thomas More lived. Trompe l’oeil tracery was also implemented on the sanctuary wall. With these elements combined, the new chapel invites the student body and staff to contemplate of a life of dedication to Christ.
