Our Lady Of The Most Holy Trinity Chapel
Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel at Thomas Aquinas College is an ambitious example of new ecclesiastical architecture in a classical style. The chapel was designed to express its place as the sacred heart of this Catholic institution, from the 135-foot bell tower on the exterior to the traditional basilican layout inside.
EverGreene was commissioned to design and fabricate the monumental plaster ornamentation, including major and minor order Corinthian column capitals and entablature, the entry pediment, attending angels and the tympanum bas-relief of the Coronation of Mary. based on the architect’s original schematic design.
New plaster was decoratively painted using faux marbleizing techniques making them indistinguishable from the true marble columns. EverGreene’s mural studio created new Evangelist murals in the crossing pendentives and implemented a decorative paint scheme throughout.
