Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
The East Lobby is part of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Building in Washington, D. C. The lobby has been recently renovated and includes limestone walls. The limestone walls suffered from abrasions and other markings, which required treatment.
We were contracted to perform micro-abrasion treatment of the East Lobby limestone in December of 2017. We coordinated with the client to minimize impact on the building and its occupants by working off-hours. With the limestone walls near elevators, ceiling lights, fire alarms, and windows, we found it necessary to protect those areas of concern from any damage from treatment.
We treated the limestone walls by using micro-abrasion. Through this treatment, the limestone walls were cleaned and removed all stains. We provided a detailed assessment report to the client.
