August Wilson Theatre
Formerly known as the Virginia Theatre, the August Wilson Theatre in Midtown Manhattan was designed by the architect C. Howard Crane & Kenneth Franzheim. The theatre first opened in 1925 and has 1275 seats.
EverGreene completed touch ups and emergency repairs at this theatre. The plaster needed to be repaired because of damage caused by the shifting of the building.
After the plaster repairs, the affected areas were washed, primed, and finished to match the adjacent plaster surfaces. Decorative finishes were also applied.
The application of finishes included application of texture, primer, paint, accent colors, glazing, and stenciling. Because of the overall nature of the plaster repairs, entire areas were repainted because touch-ups did not suffice.
