Downtown Doral Charter Elementary School - Richard Haas Mural
The Downtown Doral Charter Elementary School was first established in 2015 and stands as one of the top ranked schools in the Miami-Dade county public school system. The school’s mission is to provide students with a multicultural and multilingual education through language acquisition and innovative programming. As a part of the design of the school, muralist Richard Haas was commissioned to create two murals on the building; one on the school’s portico facade and one on both sides of a freestanding wall on 84th Avenue and 52nd street.
In the Fall of 2015, EverGreene was retained to take the color maquettes designed by Haas and execute them in full scale on the architectural surfaces. EverGreene has had a longstanding relationship with Richard Haas, scaling and executing numerous murals across the US. Similar to other murals EverGreene has done for Haas, the works were painted directly on the walls of the school with Keim mineral paints; the paints are wind, sun, and moisture resistant while retaining vapor-permeability, which is perfect for perfect for outdoor use on architectural surfaces.
