Following our conditions assessment at The Durham Museum, EverGreene was brought on to perform the first phase of the restoration process in the Swanson Gallery in January 2022. Our scope included work on plaster, paint, and murals. Our team completed restoration of plaster, featuring water damage repair, patching of anchoring holes and losses, and plaster replication of post-historic foam chevron elements. Our decorative painters were responsible for re-gilding in non-original or lost areas, gilding touch-ups in original areas, and repainting areas in silver metallic paint. Finally, our team assured that the murals were not affected by the surrounding construction and performed dusting and cleaning.
