Oklahoma State Capitol

Oklahoma City, OK
In 2015, EverGreene performed a historic finishes study of the Capitol interior. The original construction of the building wasn’t completed until 2001 when they put the dome onto the Capitol. With the information from the finishes study, our artists designed a decorative scheme with the original colors and techniques and introduced colors from the dome as accents to harmonize the two historic palettes.
Three years later in 2018, our team returned to create mockups of the historic decorative paint scheme. The recreated decorative finishes include polychroming, stenciling, gold metallic finishes, glazing, and creating a faux Ashlar Block pattern at the public corridors of the Capitol. We were subsequently awarded the contract to implement this work throughout the building.
