Redstone Castle
EverGreene collaborated with Steven Cutler to restore and conserve selected architectural finishes at the Music Room and Library of Redstone Castle, located in the town of Redstone, Colorado. The 42-room mansion known as Redstone Castle was originally constructed for Colorado industrialist and fuel magnate John Cleveland Osgood in 1902.
The purpose of the project was to repair water damage to original plaster ceilings and walls, and to conserve and restore historic finishes including plaster ceiling ornament, silk, leather, and canvas wall and ceiling coverings, metallic leaf finishes, and decorative paint and glaze coatings. Guidelines for the ongoing maintenance of historic architectural finishes in the Music Room and Library were also developed.
