111 West 57th Street - Steinway Building
Designed in 1925 by Warren & Wetmore, 111 West 57th Street was built for the famous Steinway Piano Company. In 2019, EverGreene worked with JDS Development, SHoP Architects, and renowned interior designers Studio Sofield on a custom oval lattice dome for the South Lobby. The intricate lattice dome built by EverGreene complements Studio Sofield’s bespoke lobby in a newly constructed 91-story tower of luxury residences.
EverGreene’s team created shop drawings, fabricated, and installed the dome with unusually complex geometry, making this an amazing technical accomplishment. We then meticulously upholstered the lobby dome, walls, and door frames in a luxurious velveteen fabric. The lobby is a transitional space between the historic Steinway Building entrance and the elevator lobby of the new luxury residential tower.
