Bishop Dwenger High School Chapel
Established in 1963, Bishop Dwenger High School serves the Catholic community of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Over the past five decades, Bishop Dwenger has expanded into one of the largest Catholic high schools in the state. The school’s chapel of Our Lady Queen of Saints was renewed in 2016 to accommodate the growing student population, increasing the seat capacity from 70 to 284. EverGreene was commissioned to create custom artwork to honor the patroness and community, contributing multiple murals to their chapel, which serves as a vibrant spiritual hub for the student body.
Working closely with Father Jacob Meyer at Bishop Dwenger High School and Barry Campbell of Te Deum, who created the wooden liturgical furnishings, our team designed and painted the Coronation of Our Lady in the central panel of the triptych. Flanking this central panel are murals depicting saints who represent the elementary schools that Bishop Dwenger students previously attended. Side niches feature paintings depicting the Resurrection of Christ and Pentecost. The cohesive color palette unifies the five murals in a distinctive liturgical artistry program that inspires contemplation of the Gospels and the communion of saints.
