Dolley Madison House

The Dolley Madison House is where former first lady Dolley Madison lived during her retirement.
EverGreene conservators approached this project in several phases. Phase I included assessment and testing. EverGreene performed mortar and stucco testing and prepared paint sample stratigraphy and color matching to Munsell and Pantone color decks for the original paint layers. In Phase II, EverGreene worked off of documents prepared by the Engineer and created contract drawings and specifications for implementing the recommended treatments on the facades. In the next phase, EverGreene provided construction administration and historic preservation consulting services covering all work on the exterior envelope as needed.
