Kline Institute of Trial Advocacy
In 2016, EverGreene was contacted by Drexel University to perform a restoration of the beautiful Kline Institute of Trial Advocacy at the former Beneficial Bank Headquarters Building at 1200 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Originally designed in 1916 by renowned Philadelphia architect Horace Trumbauer, the neoclassical building was gifted to Drexel by local lawyer and benefactor Thomas R. Kline.
The building was renovated to include a ceremonial courtroom, three practice courtrooms, seminar room, administrative office space, and a congregational gallery area. Our team was tasked with restoring the intricate decorative plaster ceilings in these rooms. We provided documentation of existing conditions, removed unsound plaster, created molds for replication, repaired plaster as needed, and cleaned, primed, and painted the ceiling to match the original color palette.
