The Berlin Wall at the UN—Private

In 2002, Germany presented the United Nations Headquarters with a section of the Berlin Wall. This section is currently displayed in the UN Garden. In 2017, EverGreene conservators treated this historic artifact in-situ, constructing a tent to enclose the piece. After preliminary testing and analysis to establish the method of treatment, our conservators consolidated and repaired the concrete substrate, treated the rusted re bar, re-adhered the existing paint layers where possible, and removed biological growth.
