Please join us in celebrating the Grand Reopening Block Party of Enoch Pratt Free Library on Saturday, September 14th from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Ribbon Cutting at Noon).
After a massive three-year $115-million renovation, September marks Pratt’s formal “reopening” of the 300,000-square-foot historic Central Library in downtown Baltimore.
The iconic main branch of Baltimore’s public library system opened in 1933 with a grand chamber and artwork. In the Spring of 2016, the ground was broken on a $115-million restoration of the historic Central Library. EverGreene partnered with Enoch Pratt Free Library, Maryland Department of General Services, Beyer Blinder Belle Architects, Gilbane, and Ayers/Saint/Gross to complete construction and restoration in-situ while the library remained open to the public.
This restoration project supports the City of Baltimore and offers the local community members easy access to resources and information, additional spaces for collaboration and creative learning, and modernized library technology, programming, and systems.
