EverGreene was originally engaged to create custom Venetian Plaster finishes for more than 5,000 square feet of walls in the Clemens Performing Arts Center. Quotes from Samuel Clemens were embedded in the plaster surfaces, creating an inlay effect.
After we conducted a historic finishes investigation, using exposure windows and microscopy, conservators were able to determine the original color palette and decorative scheme implemented of the 1925 theatre. Based on our findings, designers and decorative artists recreated the entire historic decorative program, including the mural depicting the Eternal Garden of Youth in the auditorium ceiling, which our team restored and repainted.
