Hollybush Mansion
Rowan University, Glassboro, NJ
Built in 1849 by successful businessman Thomas Whitney, the Hollybush Mansion on the campus of Rowan University is a 19th century mansion exemplifying Victorian, Eastlake, and Renaissance Revival styles. EverGreene was engaged by Merrell & Garaguso to complete conservation mockups in the reception room and summit room. The full scope of work for the project involved a combination of conservation and restoration techniques including ornamental plaster repair and conservation of composition ornament on mirror frames. Other work included removing overpaint, cleaning and preparing surface, isolating varnish layer, priming and base painting, and inpainting.
Hollybush Mansion is on the National Register of Historic Places.
