The St. George Theatre in Staten Island is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year! On March 24th, they will hold their annual fundraiser, a Red Carpet Gala, featuring a live concert with six-time Grammy winner Dionne Warwick. Gala supporters will have access to an after-party with an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and dance music in the new VG Lounge and the Grand and Mezzanine Lobbies.
“The gala is such an important fundraiser for us as we strive to fulfill our mission of both restoring the historic theatre and offering the Staten Island community a wide variety of programming. All of this would not be possible if not for our generous supporters,” said Doreen Cugno, President and CEO and Co-Founder of the theatre.
GEORGIE AWARD PRESENTATION
Prior to the concert, a special onstage Georgie Award will be presented to Jeff Greene, Executive Chairman and Founder of EverGreene Architectural Arts and to Sanjay Bharadwaj, President and CEO of Cube Construction Services, who have been instrumental in the success of the theatre’s monumental interior restoration efforts.
“Since 2018, Jeff and Sanjay have dedicated their time and talent to restoring the interior of St. George Theatre – from the new mosaic entrance and brass doors, marble, plaster, and mural restoration throughout the venue and so much more,” stated Cugno. “This summer, they will continue the restoration of the main chandeliers throughout the building, restoring the plaster and artistic murals in front of the stage to the back of the balcony!”
Hope to see you there to celebrate two decades of restoration progress for this beloved theater!
