Ascension Church

Located on the Upper West Side, the Church of the Ascension has been a staple in Manhattan Valley since its founding in 1895. The church was built for a German community with original artwork created by German craftspeople and artisans. In the fall of 2021, EverGreene was invited to work on Ascension’s historic ceiling.
After assessing the damage and determining the best approach, EverGreene’s artists restored the ceiling after damage due to water leak and normal wear. By repairing the damage with new plaster and inpainting, our team seamlessly blended our areas of work with the existing decoration.
