Established in 1754, Columbia University is one of the oldest higher education institutions in the U.S., and after more than 260 years it continues to be one of the most important research centers in the world. Designed in the Beaux-Arts style by McKim, Mead & White, the urban campus in Manhattan’s Morningside Heights is expansive and rich in architectural and fine art. The preservation and restoration of this historic campus is an ongoing task, protecting not only the vast heritage, but also the movements and advances that originated from it throughout the many generations that studied here.
Many EverGreeners have earned their M.S. in Historic Preservation from Columbia’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation, including Chad Shores, Andrew Maziarski, Sarah Kloze, Joe Sembrat, and Brooke Russell.
