Kansas State Capitol, House & Senate Chambers
In the Kansas State Capitol Senate Chamber, the historic cast-iron columns and pilasters were restored by developing an in situ electroplating technique to clean the copper and silver plating, then lacquered and hand polished to their original brilliant sheen. In the House Chamber, EverGreene performed comprehensive restoration and conservation services, including an historic finishes investigation, flat and ornamental plaster, decorative painting, fine arts conservation, and the restoration of scagliola columns.
EverGreene has been retained for future phases of work at the Kansas State Capitol, including conservation studies and the restoration of plasterwork and paint.
