2018 Lucy G. Moses Award

The University Club of New York’s Main Dining Room Ceiling project was a thoughtfully planned and executed process representing the collaborative efforts of the Club (Client), Zubatkin (Owner’s Rep), EverGreene Architectural Arts (Conservation, Plaster, and Murals), Kugler Ning Lighting (Lighting), Constructomics (General Contractor), and ICOR Consulting Engineers (MEP). The main project goals were to restore the ceiling with great respect for the original design and materials, enhance the dining room with appropriate architectural lighting for its function and historic character, and fulfill its aesthetic potential. The cleaning and conservation of the original painted and gilded plaster finishes refresh the appearance of the ornate ceiling, while new murals depicting the evening sky provide movement and drama.

The Lucy G. Moses Awards are the New York Landmarks Conservancy’s highest honors for outstanding preservation. Join us the evening of May 8th to celebrate with The University Club and all the other project recipients that celebrate historic buildings across New York City for their extraordinary restoration and reuse in 2017.
