BACKSilvia joined EverGreene in 2017 as an architectural conservator. She received a Master of Science in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Writing and Architecture from the New York University Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
She works closely with senior conservators in all aspects of conservation work including: research, condition assessments, conservation treatments, construction management, and materials testing and analysis. She also oversees on-site operations and the daily needs of projects.
Silvia’s graduate education included internships with the National Park Service at various sites, including Mesa Verde National Park, Tumacacori National Historical Park and others. She completed an advocacy internship at the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia and attended a field school at the T.E.I. School of Athens in Crete, Greece, where she collaborated on a risk assessment and the conservation of two prehistoric Minoan settlements. Her thesis focused on reimaging a preservation plan for the earthen ruins at Fort Union National Monument in New Mexico. Silvia presented her thesis findings at the Association for Preservation Technology Conference in Ottawa in 2017.
Silvia serves as an active member of several industry organizations, including the American Institute of Conservation (AIC) and the Association for Preservation Technology, Northeast Chapter.
